Expertise
Don Munro has extensive experience in health law, specialising in medical negligence claims. Don has represented both doctors and hospitals in hundreds of litigated claims since the 1980’s, some of which have reached the High Court. He understands how the health system operates and the demands placed on general practitioners, specialists and allied health professionals. He understands the stresses and strains that litigation brings to the medical profession.
Don has practised in all 3 Eastern States and the Australian Capital Territory.
Don frequently appears without counsel at mediations involving cerebral palsy and brain damages claims. Don also regularly appears in Court and has been actively involved in the development of the Professional Negligence List in the NSW Supreme Court.
Don Munro was selected for inclusion in the Asia Pacific Legal 500 (2008/09 & 2009/10) for Insurance and (2011/12) for Dispute Resolution.
Don Munro was selected for inclusion in the 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 edition of Best Lawyers®: Australia for Health & Aged Care and Medical Negligence.
In 2011 Don was selected for Lawyer of the Year for Health & Aged Care - Sydney. In 2013 he was also selected for Lawyer of the Year for Medical Negligence - Sydney.
