Expertise
Katharine Philp is an impressive health lawyer. She specialises in medical negligence and has successfully defended to trial a number of major matters in the medical negligence area on behalf of doctors with all decisions challenged upheld on appeal. She has more than 20 years experience in personal injury litigation and was awarded a Master of Health and Medical Law from the University of Melbourne in 2002.
Katharine has conducted commercial work which included acting for employers defending claims for unfair dismissals in the Industrial Relations Court. She has also advised and acted for architects, liquidators, universities and local governments.
Katharine is the junior vice-president of the Medico-Legal Society of Queensland Committee, a member the Australian Red Cross (Qld) International Humanitarian Law Committee and the Belmont Private Hospital Ethics Committee and Community Advisory Board.
