Sydney, (August 2012) - TressCox Lawyers would like to congratulate Denise Pepper, this year’s recipient of the 2012 Ranamok Prize for Contemporary Glass.
 Denise’s work titled Punto in Aria (Stiches in Air) is a delicate and complex recreation of a ‘cape collar’. Denise used the technique of pâte de verre to create an intricate glass lace replicating the lace of such a collar. Denise is also the first Western Australian recipient of the Ranamok Prize.
Other finalists included David Yule’s Whisky Glasses, a simple and contemporary take on the whiskey glass, Te Rongo Kirkwood’s Te Puhuia-Hinengaro, a recreation of a sacred Maori cloak, and Annette Blair’s Still Life #1 which uses blown glass and glass enamel to create a vivid image on a utilitarian watering can.

The Ranamok Glass Prize is an annual acquisitive award for glass artists who are resident in Australia and New Zealand. The Prize was founded in 1994 by Andy Plummer and Maureen Cahill as a way to promote glass as an art form to the public. The work presented for consideration for the Ranamok Glass Prize is expected to be a major effort in the artist's personal body of work. This work should be innovative, displaying excellence and imagination in quality of idea and execution in contemporary practice.
