PPSA News Alert: Warnings on Transitional Provisions of The PPSA (News Alert)

Registration of security interests on the Personal Properties Securities Register (PPSR) will commence on 30 January 2012. 

The PPSR will replace more than 70 different Commonwealth, State and Territory Acts and registers used to regulate personal property used as security.

It has been determined that the registration commencement time for the Personal Properties Securities Register (PPSR) is 30 January 2012.  The PPSR will replace more than 70 different Commonwealth, State and Territory Acts and registers used to regulate personal property used as security.  This means all Australian businesses need to assess the situation asap to avoid legal complications.
